SIDEQUEST EXP

Case Study:

Crafting a gaming logo for a video channel and streamer brand, SideQuest EXP, demanded a thoughtful approach to ensure a cohesive identity. The objective was to develop a versatile logomark and logotype, each capable of standing alone.

Delving into the essence of SideQuest EXP, I envisioned the logomark as an adaptable element, ideal for smaller formats and circular placements. Meanwhile, the logotype needed to shine in larger spaces like banners and video intros.

STRATEGY & PROCESS

Using my fondness for SNES games, especially Super Metroid, I sought inspiration for the logomark. The concept of a POWERUP resonated with me, leading to the creation of an abstract SQ. The design underwent several iterations until the perfect concept was achieved.

The logotype presented its own challenges, but from the outset, I envisioned incorporating an experience bar into the EXP. This not only adds a dynamic element but also opens up the exciting possibility of future animations.

Going through different styles of the logo and font combinations and then choosing which one fit best.

CHOSEN LOGO

Creating both the logomark and logotype to represent both powerups and leveling up. The SideQuest EXP gaming logo seamlessly marries the nostalgic charm of both with a contemporary and dynamic design, ensuring its adaptability across various platforms and applications.

cOlor variations

We went through multiple color iterations until the correct combo was decided, but luckily all of the colors could work depending on the situation.
